An Overview of the Media Services Reorganization

At the start of the 2012 academic year, the decision was made to reorganize services traditionally provided by the Media Services Department in an effort to establish a centralized event support model on campus.  The newly formed "Event Services" is part of the Campus Activities Office and represents the expansion of scope beyond the former student centered focus of the 'Student Activities Office' to include support for all events that are being held at Gustavus.  This includes College Events that directly support the mission of the college (Signature Events, Departmental/ Programatic Events and Student Organization Events) as well as the wide range of events hosted annually by Alumni, Community Members and Businesses at Gustavus.

 

In order to facilitate this new vision of support, services traditionally supported by Media Services were shifted in order to allow for a focus on event production support by Event Services.

To help facilitate these changes, while ensuring the continuation of critical support, the following areas have been charged with supporting the following services not directly related to event support and production:

 

Large Format Printing and Lamination is now offered by Print Services and information is available by contacting them at x7536.

Passport Photos are now offered by the Dinning Services Office and information is available by calling x7608.

Equipment Checkout (Video Cameras etc) is now offered by the Library and information is available by calling x7571. 

General Technology Support needs not covered above or directly related to Event Technical Support should be directed to The Technology Helpline who will assist in identifying the proper individual within Gustavus Technology Services to address your need.  They can be contacted at x6111 or by emailing helpline@gustavus.edu
